Westdale wound cartridge filters offer depth filtration over a wide range of particle removal ratings and have a high dirt holding capacity by trapping dirt in the passageways.

The advantage of this type of disposable filter cartridge is that it offers high efficiency at low cost.

Chemical compatibility of filter media

General Notes:

Metal cores extend beyond the temperature limitations of the fibres. The temperature of the fluid to be filtered is very important with respect to compatibility and it is advisable to carry out proving tests on the cartridges with the liquid to be filtered if it is to be used at elevated temperatures.

It is advisable to select cartridges for the lowest possible initial pressure drop in order to maximize the useful life of the filter, 2 psi (0.14 bar) being the norm.

If a filter is selected for a pressure drop of 5 psi (0.35 bar) it can be seen that 35% of the life of the filter will be lost.
